what else do i have to say, but thank you?

i never expected to be nominated, and maybe most of us never really expected it. we were just inclined on having a place we could be comfortable with, a niche where we each can rest. that's at least true for one - me. and maybe, maybe true with some others too. in so doing as we try pleasing our very selves, we came to please a good percentage of the blogging population as well. so, in appreciation of such gratefulness that this nomination came stumbling back to our paths for all that we gave, in the name of blogging.

i had fairly known that otsopya had caused some mild and some wild discussions in its journey as it blogs without apprehension its critique on the present fascist regime of the Arroyo government. i had fairly known that my cheesy, melodramatic, tragedy, ala-telenobela, love life, written from time to time, episode to episode, heartbreak to heartbreak, did made a number of fans and generated the traffic i had not anticipated at all. and yes, a reluctant poet i ventured into the complicated realm of entering into a relationship with the verse, with its rhythm, measures, and motions. these original poems, of love and struggle, of love and war, spiced up my blog pieces.

my niche is not an all-original one. a number of posts had achieved merits enough to share a space here with me. and i enjoyed learning a thing or two with them.

i blog because i am human, and i am a social being. i blog because i have something to say... not necessarily for all the world to hear, but they may. i blog because i have something to say, to myself at least. to record my feelings, to vent my rantings, to air grievances, to list my errors, and propose corrections, and to simply, enjoying and celebrating the life i had and is living. maybe its not all a bed of roses, maybe with roses are those thorny stems. it doesn't matter. pain and joy, they are life itself. both worth celebrating.

that said-- i thank the organizers, patskie, bill and mike, and the rest of their imaginary friends (haha) or whoever is included in concocting this brew, for deciding to include me as one of the nominee for their Multiply Blog of the Year Award 2009. it is an honor and a privilege to be appraised as maybe one of the worthy for that title. my niche here, ang lungga ng babaeng otes, is a piece of me if not close to entirely being the person that i am, and in so appreciating it, you have appreciated the person itself of course. and it is a privilege, because the added traffic would cause my ideas to reach more people than it already had managed to reach alone. and i may add, it will also become a responsibility, reminding me, urging me and pushing me actively to produce blogs that are not self-serving, rather than producing more self-indulging-selfish blog posts. and maybe not entirely obliterating the self indulgence but rather striking a balance.

second, i thank my friends who have already casted their votes ;) for your loyalty despite that the competition as it may seem is quite as worthy and maybe more worthy than my otsopya blogs are, but you still supported me, and shared with me the joy, of being nominated alone. for the nomination itself spells something of an achievement no matter how small it may be. i will also thank those who would decide to vote for me hereafter. but i want you all to really check the others out before casting your vote. this is not bragging when i say popularity wise, i may be able to clinched the votes, but admit it does have a grain of truth, and so i enjoin you to vote not because we are contacts now for a long time or we are friends, but more because you actually found merit with the contents in comparison with the others. all the other nominees are worthy of it, and so comparison is in place-- which stands better among the limited bests.

third, more than all the award in this world, a future where social justice, truth and love reigns is what i long for -- for my country and the rest of the world. with that said, may the battle cry of this lair, otsopya's "padayon" be a reminder and an inspiration to each one to pitch in their share in the continuing struggle of the people.
